Students at risk of dropping out

Based on poor student involvement, the 'Students at Danger of Dropping Out' model predicts students who are at risk of non-completion (dropping out) of a course. "No student activity in the last quarter of the course" is defined as "dropping out" in this model. The Community of Inquiry model of student participation is used in this prediction model, which is made up of three parts: Cognitive presence, Social presence and Teacher presence.

By abstracting the ideas of "cognitive presence" and "social presence," this prediction model can assess and draw conclusions from a wide range of courses, and then apply those conclusions to generate predictions about new courses, including those never taught on Ivy Academy previously. The model isn't restricted to predicting student achievement in exact replicas of previous courses.
